Depot Repair
Over the years, some of our customers have elected to employ Electro Technical Products, Inc. as their repair facility. This allows them to focus on their core business while being comfortable in knowing that the details of their product are being carefully maintained. In addition to the normal component repair tools, we have equipped ourselves with X-ray capability and the tools necessary to reliably remove and replace BGA chips.
The photos are example x-rays from customer boards. The x-rays can be useful in establishing what is good or bad. Note the solder shorts in the right hand picture
Here is our Metcal/OKI array package rework system at work putting down a BGA. Consistent rework is achieved with vision placement and computer controlled reflow.
We can handle both through hole and SMT technology efficiently. Some of these units have been out in the field for over 20 years, please excuse the dust.
