ETP, Inc. has been involved in FPGA designs using the Altera family of FPGA and the NIOS CPU. Here is an example of an automotive application for diesel engines. This add on board increases the horse power of the engine from 300 to 450! The unit had drivers to modify injector timing, a CAN bus interface as well as various analog circuits to monitor exhaust temperature and modify boost pressures,
Z-Wave is a wireless, plug-and-play, home control system being developed by the Z-Wave Alliance. Z-Wave is a 900 MHz, mesh network system, intended to unify home control functions. ETP, Inc. has developed numerous products around this standard, including thermostatic control, X-10 interfaces, multi channel relay I/O and USB based tools.
The list of Z-Wave products is on-going. Over 10 unique designs to date
The left hand photo is an addition for a high end thermostat. The design was incorporated into the existing unit, utilizing the alloted space and power. The right hand photo is a Z-Wave to Ethernet bridge. This is one of two "etherbridge" designs. The bottom photo is a Z-Wave sprinkler timer.
Non Invasive Monitoring Systems has developed a therapeutic technique for temporary relief of musculoskeletal pain associated with osteoarthritis using a platform that repetitively moves a supine person in a head to foot direction at about 140 times a minute with a displacement of 3/4 inch or less over a period of 30 to 45 minutes. The hand-held controller provides digital values of speed, travel, and time. The Exer-Rest is designed such that the user can utilize and operate it without assistance. ETP, Inc. was directly involved in the electrical design and safety approvals of this ISO-60601 unit.
